Dear Competitors, Thank you for attending MIT Open 2012! Please note a few final announcements below: Feedback about your experiences at the competition can be found in our online survey. Please take a few minutes to give us feedback on how we can continue to make MIT Open a great competition. Results are now available at http://www.ballroomregistrar.com/results/MIT12. Photos by Ryan Kenner Photography (http://www.ryankennerphotography.com/) are now available for online viewing and purchase. Visit http://dance.ryankennerphotography.com/ and select the MIT Dancesport album. Hope you enjoy the photos! Videos are coming and will be posted on our website as soon as they are available. Lost and Found items can be claimed by sending a detailed description to mitbdt-comp-coord@mit.edu. Please note that objects not claimed before April 1st will be donated. Please take a moment to read this email which contains critical information for the MIT Open this weekend. I’d encourage you purchase tickets to the lecture & showcase by Iveta Lukosiute (So You Think You Can Dance - Season 8!) and Gherman Mustuc by Thursday night. Iveta & Gherman will also be teaching lessons throughout the weekend; more information can be found below. Lecture, Show & Lessons Show couple Gherman Mustuc and Iveta Lukosiute, world 10-dance champions, will be presenting a special lecture Sunday, March 18th, from 2-3pm. Space is limited, so purchase tickets early to secure your spot. You can buy advance lecture tickets at http://mitopenlecture.eventbrite.com/ until Thursday, March 15th. Lecture attendees must have a valid photo ID with them to pick up their tickets at the info/ticket desk on Saturday through 1pm on Sunday. Please note that EventBrite confirmation pages are not sufficient for lecture admission and must be exchanged for a ticket at the info/ticket desk ahead of time. You can buy advance show tickets at http://mitopenprofessionalshow.eventbrite.com/ until Thursday, March 15th. Show attendees must have a valid photo ID with them to pick up their tickets at the info/ticket desk on Saturday before 7:30pm. Students must present a valid student ID. Please note that EventBrite confirmation pages are not sufficient for admission to the show and must be exchanged for a ticket at the info/ticket desk ahead of time. Lecture and show tickets may also be purchased on site at the info/ticket desk. Additionally, the show couple will be available for private lessons throughout the weekend. Registration We will be offering early check-in on Friday night from 7-10pm in Rockwell Cage (the competition venue) again. Pick up your envelope then to avoid waiting in line on Saturday morning! Online payment (http://web.mit.edu/~mitbdt/www/ecommerce/bdt_open_payment_2012.html) will close Thursday at 11:59pm! If you plan to pay at the door, please note we will only accept cash or check. 3. Schedule An updated schedule is available at http://ballroom.mit.edu/comp/schedule.shtml. Competitors in the first event, Beginner International Waltz, need to be in line in the on-deck area by 7:50 am. 4. Eligibility enforcement We will be strictly enforcing eligibility rules. Any dancer dancing down will be disqualified, even after the event. 5. Parking Public parking is available on Vassar St in the West Garage for $5: http://whereis.mit.edu/?go=W45. More information on parking is available on http://ballroom.mit.edu/comp/directions.shtml. 6. Food Dunkin’ Donuts in the Student Center will be open at 7:30am on Saturday and Sunday. In the Student Center, there are additional food venues including La Verde’s grocery store and Subway. Further options are available within a 10-15 minute walk from the competition venue. This free viewing will be available on our main competition page throughout the weekend: ballroom.mit.edu/comp. 8. Safety & Security Lockers are available in the locker room for single-day use. We recommend bringing a combination lock and storing your valuables there. We will also have an EMT present at the venue throughout the weekend. The show will take place at 8:15pm on Saturday, prior to the open amateur finals for all four styles. I've finally caved in and am working on a Java port of CompInaBox, the software that powers this site. If anyone has any interest in assisting with the coding, design, or support, please contact Eric Nielsen.
Since I wasn't the registrar for Binghamton, I haven't been able to use my normal result posting scripts. I'm planning to work with Ily to make something work, but in the mean time you can go to http://www.ballroomregistrar.com/results/Binghamton07/raw/ and look at the pre-formatting score sheets.
